Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy and how it can help you

Hypnosis is not sleep, it is a heightened state of awareness.  Whilst in hypnosis, most people have awareness of what is happening around them, but your mind is likely to drift and wander with my voice sometimes fading into the background.

Mindfulness helps clients to relax and to maintain a moment-by-moment awareness of their thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations and surrounding environment.  It’s about the here and now. Mindfulness also involves acceptance, helping us to pay attention to our thoughts and feelings without judging them – without believing, for instance, that there’s a “right” or “wrong” way to think or feel in a given moment.

Hypno Analysis and regression

Under hypnosis the client is taken back to an initial sensitising event. This, more often than not, occurred during the early years, where cognitive understanding is low but emotional response was high. By revisiting these memories and emotions in a controlled environment the response patterns the client may have developed at the time of the experience can be re evaluated and put into perspective.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy is commonly used for psychological problems that have had a number of years to accumulate, rather than a one off problem,  The psychotherapeutic approach tends to look in the deeper, more fundamental and long-standing issues.
